“The cushions in the Fibonacci Fabrics series are based on the famous Fibonacci sequence; a mathematical ratio that is very common in nature. They are specially designed for the Vij5 collection and made using traditional techniques in a modern design. We personally were intrigued by the beautiful hand-embroidery and asked Jolijn to design a series of cushions based on this specific technique. She made an elaborate design in which areas of colour, patterns and embroidery meet and overlap. All cushions can function as an individual, yet are part of a bigger whole. The products are made of the most refined quality ecological cotton and Fairtrade produced in India.”

Fibonacci Fabrics is a sophisticated series of textiles based on the famous Fibonacci sequence; 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, etc. Each subsequent number is the sum of the previous two which result in a mathematical ratio that is very common in nature.
Textile designer Jolijn Fiddelaers designed an elaborate pattern based on this sequence in which areas of colour, patterns and embroidery meet and overlap.
Fibonacci Fabrics offer cushion covers + shawls (in 2 sizes), in various designs and colour ways. All products can function as an individual yet are they part of a bigger whole. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”.
All products are made of the most refined quality ecological cotton, environmental-friendly dyed by hand, completely (!) HAND-woven and HAND-embroidered, designed according natural principles and fair-trade produced in India.
