A temporary intervention focusing on sustainability and circularity.
Commissioned by Dutch Design Foundation, Vij5 was responsible for the design of the Press Centre of Dutch Design Week (DDW) 2018. For the occasion, we designed a temporary intervention in line with our design for the Business Lounge, focusing on sustainability and circularity. For the realization of the project, we partnered up with ECOR panels, Forbo Marmoleum, Kvadrat fabrics and de Klerk flowers and plants.
For the Press Centre we created an inspiring space at the main office of Dutch Design Foundation to welcome journalists, photographers and camera crews. At the same time the Press Centre offered work and lounge areas created by using different items from the Vij5 collection. Not to be missed in the Press Centre this year was one of the newest additions to the Vij5 collection: the Trestle Table by David Derksen.
Taking the private identity of the area in mind, we aimed to create a space with both a temporary character and a high-end feel. With a big circle of 100% recycled and recyclable panels we created an architectural intervention into the existing space. This structure was complemented with the temporary use of different items from the Vij5 collection, made of pure and sustainable materials. After the event, the space was returned to its original state. All design items were borrowed and returned afterwards.
