Bas van Raay

Bas van Raay (1981) graduated in 2007 from the Design Academy in Eindhoven NL. He graduated at the department 'Man and Public Space', and studied at the department 'Man and Well Being' before. Bas re-examines the objects we live with. By taking these objects apart in function and concept, and by putting them back together in a different way the objects create an opinion about how we use them.

In 2008 studio Vraay and Vij5 exhibited among others as part of the joint exhibition ‘Autofficina’ in Milan, where he presented his 'I am furniture' series.

The carafe 'Schenk' has been designed by Bas and is part of the Vij5 collection since 2011.
